We curate content so you don’t have to
You have implemented one of the world’s leading EHRs, but you are just getting started. Optimizing Epic for streamlined clinical workflows and thorough quality reporting remains a challenge. Powerful functions such as Problem-based Charting, Synopsis Views, Chart Search, Reporting Workbench and Clarity data pulls remain untapped potential without the clinical content to support them.
Until now, you’ve had to convene teams of clinicians and analysts for development and maintenance of the clinical content needed for system configuration and optimization. This is a costly exercise that requires ongoing investment to keep up with changes in protocols. And with multiple groups crafting content by hand and in an ad hoc manner, quality suffers.
Now you can get started with a set of optimized content with the QPID Intelligent Clinical Content (QICC) service. Our clinical experts handle all content curation and maintenance, eliminating the need to create and update content. Using proprietary technology and clinical knowledge developed in more than a decade of demanding clinical use, we deliver and maintain intelligent content that reflects thousands of clinical associations needed for diagnosis, treatment and quality reporting.
What clinical content do you get?
Developed in collaboration with Epic to ensure compatibility, our subscription service delivers a robust set of clinical content that is updated on a regular basis. With the major diagnoses, drugs and lab tests handled, your staff is free to focus on only developing custom content for Grouper definitions that are unique to your institution or highly specialized.
Our problem-oriented content intelligently links the top 100 problems to some 6000 medications and 2500 lab tests, which consists of nearly 10,000 mappings. These linkages are expressed automatically in the problem list, synopsis views, and chart search functionalities within Epic. QICC has helped Epic clients support problem-based charting initiatives, deliver more streamlined care, and keep patient data more up-to-date. Clinical content for specialties such as pediatrics and cardiology are planned for the QICC service.
Our quality-reporting content groups together the 53,000+ diseases, 4,000+ medications, and 4,700+ lab tests in 216 value sets. These groupings can then be used in Reporting Workbench or data pulls in your Clarity database. By aligning existing reporting mechanisms with CMS’s value sets, QICC has helped Epic clients produce more accurate and efficient reports for eCQMs. Clinical content for HEDIS measures are planned for the QICC service in 2017.

QPID Health has solved a problem that is shared by our colleagues throughout the Epic user community: How to eliminate the ad hoc creation of clinical content for Epic groupers, and the use of in-house clinical resources for a time-intensive process. The volume of work becomes overwhelming when you try to accommodate changes, which are constant. QPID Health eliminates this by providing a body of validated clinical content that is updated on a regular basis.
